FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ELLEN TIFT PREMIERES ON NEW CMT REALITY SHOW

(Nashville, TN) Belmont University alumnus and faculty member, Ellen Tift, will be appearing on the premiere of a new reality show for CMT [Country Music Television] on Feb. 9 at 7:30 PM EST, 6:30 CST. The pilot for the show “Score” features Ellen as a professional songwriter heading up one of two teams to write a song in 4 hours. She is partnered with a bachelor who is competing against the bachelor of the other team to capture the attention of the show’s bachelorette.

Tift, who has a master of music degree from the University of Miami, was glad to have had experience in TV jingle writing prior to the show. “The bachelorette gave us five words we had to use in the lyric, like “spider” and “touch down”. Trying to write a song around such random words in a 4 hour window with an inexperienced songwriter - all while on camera - was challenging, but we did it.” After both teams composed their songs, each bachelor performed his song with a band while the bachelorette listened from behind a screen. She chose her bachelor sight unseen based solely on which song she liked.

“Score”, produced by the same company who first introduced the popular show “Trading Spaces” to TLC, filmed last June in Miami’s famed recording studio The Hit Factory, and at the Billboard Live venue on Miami’s South Beach. If CMT should decide to turn this pilot into a series, Ellen Tift would be a regularly appearing cast member.

“All of the real drama happened when the cameras were off, and I wish the audience knew just how bizarre things were behind the scenes. Not everyone was cooperative... it was very difficult,” reports Tift. Ellen is on adjunct faculty at Belmont University and credits some of her success on the show with her experience in teaching composition lessons to the students in the School of Music.

Ellen Tift is cofounder and president of Worldwide Groove Corporation [www.worldwidegroovecorp.com], a music production company based in Nashville, TN. She can most recently be heard singing on a project for Integrity Records which she helped produce, and will be available in Target and Wal-Mart stores this May. Ellen also performs regularly with a local improvisational comedy troupe in Nashville. “Score” is her first television experience.
